Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara el Rai headed to Iraq on Monday at the invitation of Syrian Catholic Patriarch of Antioch Mar Ignatius Joseph III Younan. He will celebrate a mass at Saydet Al-Najat church and discuss with local Iraqi officials the situation of Christians in Iraq and in the region.

 

He is expected to come back on Wednesday.
