Elie added that of the total donations, US$30 million (RM111 million) would be used to build a mosque and a church in Kuala Lumpur.

He urged the authorities from Federal Territory Islamic Department (Jawi) and the Federal Territory Bishop’s Diocese to contact him at 013-2655318 or 012- 2869304 to arrange for the donation.

Elie also pledged to donate US$5 million (RM18.6 million) each to the blind and those suffering from heart disease, plus another US$1.5 million (RM5.6 million) to Our Lady of Fatima’s Church in Kuala Lumpur.

“The remaining money, US$41 million (RM152 million), is for the orphanages and the needy which will be distributed by the Go- vernment’s agencies,” he said, while urging for the relevant departments to contact him for more details.

Elie said his friend, Prince Khalid Soud from Saudi Arabia, would be arriving here very soon.

“He is very interested to work with me, in charity work,” he said.

Last Wednesday, Elie was released on RM5,000 bail after spending 10 days in police custody to facilitate investigations into several cheating cases.
